Ansel Adams

Tetons and the Snake River by Ansel Adams
When Ansel Adams was young, he broke his nose. This caused him to be one of the people that didn't fit in very well at his school. So, he didn't have a very good education. He ended up going to a private school.
Besides his main profession - photography. Another was playing the piano. At the age of 12 he taught himself to read music and play.
In 1927 the image of a sheer rock face with the moon above it. The shadows contrasted the deep blacks to the pure, bright whites.
                                Three Facts:
1. Adams first published photographs and writings appeared in the Sierra Club's 1922 bulletin.
2. In 1934 Adam's first series of techhnical articles was published in camera craft.
3. Adam's was an unremiting activist.
Why I chose the picture I did:
I chose the picture of Tetons and Snake River because Adam's blacks and whites are very precise. Since this is a landscape with no people around.. I almost feel no emotion. This picture is in many ways like a book. For example, The mountain draw you in from left to right.

Panoramic Images

I really liked that these images because they capture the subject from different angles. The first image captures more then what you would see in an average picture of the San Fransisco Skyline. The second image captures the toulouse in France.

Lightning is energy

For me, lighting makes me feel like I'm having an adrenaline rush. It's so powerful, it makes my stomach turn. This photograph attracted my attention because of the energy it captures. For me, lighting is one of the most beautiful and natural intruiging elements. It almost makes me feel like I was there feeling the horror when the lightning struck.
