Tetons and the Snake River by Ansel Adams
When Ansel Adams was young, he broke his nose. This caused him to be one of the people that didn't fit in very well at his school.So, he didn't have a very good education. He ended up going to a private school.
Besides his main profession - photography. Another was playing the piano. At the age of 12 he taught himself to read music and play.
In 1927 the image of a sheer rock face with the moon above it. The shadows contrasted the deep blacks to the pure, bright whites.
Three Facts:
1. Adams first published photographs and writings appeared in the Sierra Club's 1922 bulletin.
2. In 1934 Adam's first series of techhnical articles was published in camera craft.
3. Adam's was an unremiting activist.
Why I chose the picture I did:
I chose the picture of Tetons and Snake River because Adam's blacks and whites are very precise. Since this is a landscape with no people around.. I almost feel no emotion. This picture is in many ways like a book. For example, The mountain draw you in from left to right.
